Pantheon Invertebrate Analysis
The Panteon database tool has been released by Natural England and Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (April, 2017). This database incorporates Invertebrate Species – Habitat Information System (ISIS) used on most invertebrate projects to give a quantitative value to the importance of invertebrate assemblages on a site. In addition, it has a model which assigns invertebrates to resources, habitats and ecological position albeit this requires further testing. A third aspect of this database is that it also automatically calculates other indices which would often be applied to invertebrate datasets on projects. This database can be utilised for invertebrate surveys to provide additional information.
EU exit and wildlife
Updated following triggering of Article 50
Following the UK's vote to leave the EU there is a lot of confusion as to what this means to wildlife and how this could impact upon projects. Details of the situation can be found in this post.
